Here is a few of my past projects over the years
What started out as a pile of parts in my uncle's backyard turned into my first hot rod. starting out, I rebuilt everything from the motor to the braking system, to the transmission. After getting the car running, i had to modify the interior and electrical system to make it easier for the driver. This involved lowering the seat and modifying the upholstery, and creating a fuse block and switch system to control the car. Overall this 350 SBC 1923 ford model-T replica was my first experience in classic car restoration.
I traded the 1923 T-Bucket for this 1935 dodge brothers 4 door sedan. The car came with a 400 SBC and a mustang 2 front end. Over the time that I had it, I built a full custom exhaust system with long tube headers. Custom fabricated a power steering system, strengthened the frame, rebuilt the interior, and redesigned the suspension to sit the car lower. the final thing that I did to it was paint the hood and grille which turned out extremely well for my first bodywork experience.
My next project was a 1966 Lincoln Continental. I dove into this project not knowing how hard it is to find parts for this vehicle. aside from minor upgrades and modifications such as fuel lines, a load of electrical work, and some hunting for parts, the biggest challenge was finding parts and making them work. i was able to find a junkyard with all of the exterior trim and body panels that i needed to complete the car, however the 60-year-old plastics were worn and cracked from the Arizona sun. Rather than try and hunt them down, i 3-D modeled the trim clips and Mouldings in SolidWorks and after a few trials was able to 3-D print plastic trim clips to hold on the chrome pieces on the exterior of the car and finish it.
As a small side project in early 2021, i found this bus on and internet and was able to buy it at an extremely low price. the first thing i did to it was fix the airbrake system and get it running. the majority of this project was research as I spent hundreds of hours researching the history of the vehicle. I came to find out that the bus only had 1700 original miles on a BBC 454 converted to run on propane. the bus was built by SVMC as a custom one-off vehicle for Arizona State University to transport their football team. I ended up selling the bus for a profit.
My first car, a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, gifted to me by my parents, was my initiation into car building. It was completely stock when i got it and throughout high school i modified it. starting with a basic radio unit and light bar. after those, i built a fully custom JL audio system including the subwoofer boxes and taught myself how to tune it. then came the lift kit that i was able to install myself. lastly, and my favorite part, i was able to enlist the help of my cousin and his plasma cutter to team up and build the full metal bumper from scratch and weld it together. this 6-speed manual truck is my pride and joy.
In the summer of 2021 i got my motorcycle endorsement and picked up this '07 ZX10R. This bike has a power commander 3, gearing, and a few other mild modifications. This bike was my gateway into motorcycle maintenance and eventually tuning. over time, i was able to teach myself how to do fuel mapping and tuning for different applications and i plan to pursue riding and racing competitively in the future.
While in Colorado over summer break in 2020, i converted an old aluminum Jon boat into a bass fishing boat in my garage. i started by building the decking out of marine plywood with compartments for storage. then, after a quick paint job, i was able to source a trolling motor and seats for it. This was not a huge project but definitely something that turned out fairly well.
